Biography

Yang Hua is a scholar of modern Chinese and Russian literature and culture. His research interests include Sino-Soviet interactions, socialist internationalism, world literature, literary theory, and the relationship between religion and modernity. His dissertation explores Sino-Russian cultural exchanges in the first half of the twentieth century to rethink the secularist origins of the global socialist revolution.
