Biography

Nathaniel LaCelle-Peterson is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature and Film & Media Studies. His research is broadly concerned with the history of concepts like nature, labor, and value in extractive and aesthetic practices—mostly in the 19th and 20th century history of film and literature. His dissertation project takes a comparative approach to debates about naturalism, realism, and developmentalism in 1950s film, literature, and social thought.
