Biography
Yahel is originally from New York and received her BA in English from Barnard College in 2010. Before coming to Yale, she worked for 2 years at a Jewish family center in Berlin, organizing and running educational programs for a progressive, open community of families with children under age 7. Her interests have so far led her to Jewish women in theater at the turn of the century.
Research Interests
Literature by and about Jews in nineteenth-century Europe; Yiddish theater and film; Victorian fiction and mystery novels; the rise of psychonalaysis and early psychoanalytic literature; Biblical texts, liturgy, and prayer.
