Biography
Ryan Hintzman entered the PhD program in 2018. He studies premodern Chinese and Japanese literature, focusing primarily on the 7th through 10th centuries. His interests extend to American and European poetry of the 19th and 20th centuries, the question of the lyric, and the life and afterlife of Romanticism.
