Bio

İlyas Deniz Çınar (he/him) is a PhD student in Comparative Literature and Film and Media Studies. His forthcoming publications include a critical literature review of Jewish-Turkish theater historiography and an analysis of contemporary Western-genre films produced in Turkey. Deniz’s current research interests focus on how spatial dynamics convey contested political stances and mediate cultural and gendered representations in Turkish, English, and German novels and films. Additionally, he studies the politics of fandom in Turkish football fan documentaries.
