The Literature and Comparative Cultures Track is the standard track of the Comparative Literature Major. Unlike the Intensive Language Track, it requires proficiency in one foreign language. This can be completed with an L5 course in the chosen language, and in a few cases with an L4 course. Students take three literature courses reading texts in the original foreign language. The three electives can be taken in any department and in any language. One of them has to fulfill the theory requirement. One elective course may be in creative writing or Directed Studies. Please contact the DUS to discuss what courses may be counted toward this track.
