The department’s graduate placement and publication record speaks for itself. Despite a straitened academic job market, many of our PhDs have found excellent academic jobs, and published ambitious books in a wide range of fields. Others have found highly satisfying jobs as curators, translators, publishers, and teachers. We are proud of their achievements and the many ways they continue to enrich academic and cultural life in the United States and around the world.
